An inspirational gesture in memory of Nicky

What a night!

Charlie & Nicola enjoyed a glitzy evening of entertainment at Jordan Wylie’s Rowing Dangerously Gala Ball at EJ Churchill shooting ground in Buckinghamshire. We were delighted to be able to auction off A Million Dreams and, in the process, raise £5,000 for Frontline Children's new school in Djibouti.

The winning bid came from Julia Kirkham who bought her to enable more young people to get out on the water. She is donating the boat to the Fishguard and Goodwick Jemima Rowing Club in Pembrokeshire in memory of her sister in law Nicky Charlesworth. Nicky was a member of the club who lost her battle with ovarian cancer aged just 45.

Julia’s brother, Ed Charlesworth said:

“What an incredible opportunity and inspiration for all our rowers. It is the Club’s 21st anniversary celebrations tomorrow – what a great birthday gift for the club. I can’t wait to tell everyone about it.”

Thank you, Jordan, for a great evening and thank you,Julia, for giving this very special Rannoch Explorer a very fitting new, home in Wales.
