Atlantic Ocean – Trade Winds East to West - Rannoch

Atlantic Ocean – Trade Winds East to West

There are many ways of doing this route. How about joining the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, rowing from La Gomera to Antigua with a fleet of other Ocean rowers or row independently from Gran Caneria into Barbados, or if you are felling even tougher, take on the main land to mainland challenge from Portugal to Venezuela.

Follow the Samuelson and Harbo route, the first ever ocean rowing crossing in 1896. Leave from New York, or Halifax and passing the Scilly Isles into Falmouth UK or even Brest in France. If your looking for the worlds longest and toughest rowing race then why not enter the Transatlantic Rowing Race.

Pacific Ocean - Rannoch

Pacific Ocean

The Great Pacific race is run out of Monterey California and finishes in Hawaii, two iconic locations in the US, we have support teams from both the UK and US for this event. Alternatively we have worked with teams rowing the entire Pacific, from South America into Australia.

Monthly Training sessions

We are able to provide bespoke training programs to ensure that you are safe and well prepared for your expedition. This will include classroom work covering weather systems, race tactics, tidal streams and lots more. On the water you will be trained by world record breaking ocean rowers, covering rowing techniques, navigation equipment, para anchor usage, boat maintenance as well as the general routine you need on the boat.

The man behind Rannoch Adventure and the man who brought Locura to life. His timeless energy, jumping into RIBs at 0500 in the morning to come and check on us during training and always being at the end of a phone during this crossing. Thank you is by no means enough, we simply would not be where we are without him!

Tom Salt & Mike Burton, “Locura” 2013 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Race Winner
I understood we set the new pair’s speed world record for this crossing and naturally were the fastest pair in the race. As you might know, we had to start 9 days after the Great Pacific Race start and one can only speculate whether we would have beaten EVERYONE (4 person crews included) had we started together and with the same weather conditions. We did post the three fastest day distances by anyone and if you calculate speed per distance traveled; we beat all the four person crews too. Thank you and big cheers to the boat that served us so well!

Charlie, I cannot thank you enough for everything this week. Jack had an amazing time experiencing ocean rowing and getting insights and advice from a true expert. He loved getting time on the water and experiencing a true night out on his own. Thanks for all of your advice and encouragement. It was a great week and we loved Burnham and the Oyster Smack. Looking forward to working with you and Team Rannoch in the future!

Success is not a chance event. In addition to hard work it takes a great leader with vision, determination and a passion for detail and excellence. I have been fortunate enough to work with Charlie Pitcher who exemplifies the essence of great leadership which is reflected in the work of Rannoch’

Rannoch are the only company I have come across to offer solutions on all elements of preparation for an ocean row. They picked us up well in to our campaign and helped us make practically essential alterations to our Ocean Rowing Boat as well as gave us practical advice, help in our training and scrutinizing our preparations at our departure port. They were extremely professional and also loyal supporters. I would strongly recommend someone considering an ocean row should talk to them.
