Tom completes his row across the North Atlantic

A huge shout out to Tom Waddington who has completed his solo row across the North Atlantic in his R25. Rowing over 2,000 nm from St John's, Canada to the Scilly Isles took him 45 days and in the process, he raised over £65,000 for the mental health charity, Mind.

Charlie had the pleasure of pushing him off the jetty in Canada and being there to greet him in Penzance - arriving by helicopter from St Mary's where he officially finished his row:

"Tom is one of the loveliest people I've worked with. His graciousness, modesty and down to earth nature have endeared him to the whole Rannoch team. He took on a tough ocean rowing route and contended with fog, massive waves and incredibly challenging wind conditions. His reward was unique encounters with wildlife - something he will never forget.
I couldn't believe it when I saw him in Penzance - he looked so healthy and had clearly looked after himself well during his row. His boat is in great condition despite several capsizes.
Tom's row makes a fantastic story - as evidenced by the tales he told his friends and family over several bottles of champagne and beer at the water's edge in Penzance last week. Tom is a great ambassador for ocean rowing and it was an honour for Rannoch to be so closely involved in his challenge."

Enjoy a very well deserved rest, Tom!
