Tom Waddington sets off to conquer the North Atlantic

At 9am local time on Friday 5th July 2024, Tom Waddington departed from St Johns, Newfoundland, hoping to set a new ocean rowing world record in the process. The North Atlantic is one of the most brutal oceans to cross, especially as a solo rower.

Tom has been working towards achieving his dream of conquering this ocean for 3 years after he approached Rannoch to support him in his quest. His R25 ‘Be Hatty’ was given a complete overhaul for this expedition and he has received bespoke coaching from Charlie Pitcher. Charlie was with Tom in Canada to assist with final preparations and to send him off.

The whole Rannoch team has supported him in many ways and we all wish him the best of luck and look forward to following his journey.
