Caledonian Canal, June 2024

Last week we welcomed ten Wiltshire friends, aka the OARSOME OLDIES, onto Roxy in Scotland on the Caledonian Canal. Unfortunately the weather played havoc with the plan, and extreme gusts up to 35 mph prevented them from rowing their planned itinerary.

Not wanting to be defeated, the crew, some of whom had only rowed on water once before, put on brave and eternally positive faces through wind, rain, hail and ad hoc sunshine to battle the elements on the northern section of Loch Ness and through the Caledonian Canal out into the North Sea.

Skipper Mark and co skipper Kirsty had nothing but praise for their efforts which have raised over £56,000 for their charities. Thank you to the Oarsome Oldies for an unforgettable adventure.
