Another incredible adventure has been completed onboard Roxy!
Last week saw her take on one of the toughest challenges yet… crossing the North Sea from Scotland to Norway.
The crew set off on Monday 14th July from Inverness, with conditions looking extremely favourable for the coming days.
The first 3 days were amazing, with the sea as flat as a mill pond and sun shining. They also had magnificent sightings of whales, seals and dolphins.
By Thursday the conditions had strengthened, giving the crew a very challenging couple of days of rowing ahead. With exemplary teamwork, the 12 strong crew showed grit and determination in making their way to the Norwegian coast, arriving at their destination late Saturday evening, with family and friends cheering them in. Everyone was in extremely high spirits and massively proud of what they had just accomplished.
Patrick Coote, one of the crew, was on board for his second expedition:
"Once again Rannoch excelled with superb communication, pre-trip information, quality kit and Roxy in very good shape. My second trip onboard and very happy with the ongoing high level of professionalism from Nicola, Charlie and team. The skipper, Ellen, was truly exceptional throughout the voyage. An incredible mix of energy, knowledge, good humour and professionalism. Calm under pressure in difficult circumstances. Very impressive indeed."
With special thanks to Ellen, Kay, the crew of mv Vertom Tomma and the Norwegian Coastguard for ensuring Roxy and her crew arrived safely into Tananger harbour.
