Caledonian Canal

This unique expedition will take you right through the heart of Scotland and along the famous Loch Ness. After a long one day row up Loch Linnhe from Oban to Fort William, we will then enter the Caledonian Canal itself. The canal is 60 miles long with one third of the entire length being man-made, the rest comprising Loch Dochfour, Loch Ness, Loch Oich, and Loch Lochy. There are 29 locks to negotiate including eight at Neptune's Staircase, four aqueducts and 10 bridges from start to end.

This is a slower paced expedition due to the number of locks to be negotiated but is full of serenity, varied scenery and plenty of opportunity for café breaks along the canal. All nights will be spent on land wild camping in our yurt.
